The latest release of the Viedoc platform brings greater versatility to clinical trial design and improved usability across key products. With Viedoc 4.86, we are introducing new functionality in Viedoc Me, Share, Designer, Clinic, and TMF – making it easier to support a wider range of studies while helping users work more efficiently.
Viedoc Me, Designer & Clinic – now supporting the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS)
Viedoc Me now supports the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), enabling studies to collect more specific patient-reported outcomes. This widely used type of scale enables study participants to rate symptoms like pain or fatigue on a clear, numerical spectrum, making it ideal for many therapeutic areas.
The NRS item can be added and configured in Viedoc Designer, with data collection and monitoring managed in Viedoc Clinic. This ensures seamless implementation across the platform.
Key NRS features include:
- A horizontal row of equally sized and spaced response options
- Anchor labels above the leftmost and rightmost values
- Descriptive labels placed below each option
- Support for 40+ language options, including right-to-left languages
Note: The NRS item type is only supported in the new version of Viedoc Me – not in the legacy app.
See how easy it is to configure and preview NRS in Viedoc in this 9-step walkthrough:
Viedoc Share – faster access to shared records
To simplify collaboration, email notifications in Viedoc Share now include a direct link to the binder, allowing the recipients to jump straight to the relevant material, saving time and making it easier to access shared documents.
Viedoc TMF – safeguards against accidental data loss
Viedoc TMF now includes an important enhancement to protect user input. If a user attempts to publish or save an unpublished record that contains unsaved field changes, they’ll receive an error message. This update aims to reduce the risk of incomplete or lost updates in your Trial Master File.

Looking ahead
As we continue to evolve the Viedoc platform, our focus remains on building tools that make modern clinical trials more efficient, compliant, and patient-centric. In the coming releases, we’ll be expanding functionality across the ecosystem, including improvements to data collection flexibility and enhanced user interface updates. Stay tuned – there’s more innovation on the way.
