The Chinese Zodiac and Viedoc

This year, Chinese New Year falls on January 21st and it is the Year of the Rabbit. The Chinese zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle, with each year represented by a different animal. The rabbit is considered a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity. At Viedoc, we strive to provide our clients with long-lasting, efficient and successful solutions for their clinical trials, aligning perfectly with the symbolism of the Year of the Rabbit.

Our team in China is composed of experts who are knowledgeable in the cultural and regulatory nuances of the market. Our solutions have been designed to run clinical trials in China seamlessly and efficiently, with servers located in the country and a dedicated Business Development and Professional Services team to support them.

Traditions of the Chinese New Year

During the Chinese New Year, traditional customs and activities are celebrated. These include giving and receiving red envelopes filled with money (hongbao), giving gifts to friends, family, and colleagues, eating certain foods that are believed to bring good luck and prosperity such as fish and dumplings, fireworks on New Year's Eve to scare away evil spirits, and hanging lanterns in various shapes and sizes which are believed to guide spirits to the living world. To celebrate Chinese New Year, our Chinese colleagues gather together as a family at the Viedoc office in Shanghai, China, and have a delicious dinner together in a traditional Chinese restaurant.
